Hello, my name is Drexel Harris
If you were to Google
me or look me up on LinkedIn, you probably will not find a lot about photography in my professional career. My professional career started as an Electronics Technician and a Nuclear Reactor Operator in the US Navy. I spent the rest of my career working for a utility organization as a training instructor, engineer, and HR professional. At the same time, I had a fascination with photography.
My fascination with photography most likely came from the lack of photos of my six siblings and myself in our early years. Also, when a rare black and white photo was found, it was either poor quality and had many battle scars or degrees of fading. I started my photography journey with a laser focus on capturing everything. So much so, my family would hate to see me coming with a camera. However, they all know who to call when they are looking for pictures for celebrations from marriages, graduations, and sadly for memorial purposes.
They especially love seeing pictures from years back as kids and parents age. They love to show their kids or new friends what they used to look like when they had big hair or prove they were not always as big as they are now.
I have been able to help them create moments that never happened.
One of my cousins was planning a cruise with a very close friend of hers.
Unfortunately, the friend passed away before the cruise. My cousin went on the cruise anyway. She provided me several pictures and asked if there was anything that I could do to add him into the picture.
Another one of my cousins was scheduled to graduate with a master’s degree.
He very much wanted his grandfather to be there and take a picture with him. His grandfather was the main father figure in his life since his father had died about 20 years before. Unfortunately, his grandfather passed away a few months before his graduation. My cousin wanted his grandfather to be there with him.
My goal is to help my clients capture and preserve memories, restore previously captured memories, and create memories of what could have been. My focus is not to become the biggest photographer with the greatest number of clients. My focus is to provide customized solutions and to have the greatest percent of satisfied clients.
